We are too good - Bullish Ilechukwu insists Enyimba can 'never beat' Rangers in NPFL title decider
Nigeria's most successful football clubs, Rangers International and Enyimba FC, will go head-to-head in what promises to be a thrilling title decider this weekend.
Ahead of the highly anticipated matchday 35 showdown, slated for Rangers' home ground, the Cathedral in Enugu, the manager of the Flying Antelopes, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has issued a bold warning to the defending champions.
Rangers vs Enyimba: Ilechukwu talks tough
The current league leaders, Rangers, sit just two points ahead of the mighty Elephants, who are the reigning champions of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).
Speaking ahead of the encounter, the former MFM and Plateau United coach noted that the Elephants may have the pedigree to win the NPFL title but will not take all three points against his side.
"Enyimba cannot beat us on Sunday and they understand that they can never, they can't beat Rangers," Ilechukwu declared in a fiery statement.
"Rangers are prepared, Rangers are too good defensively, Rangers have the quality, capacity, and all it takes to beat Enyimba, and we will work hard because Enyimba have the pedigree to win the league. We will work hard on Sunday to make sure we make this thing happen."
The reverse fixture in Aba earlier this season ended in a 1-1 draw, but both sides will be determined to secure all three points this time around.
With only four matches remaining in the season, the clash between these two football giants could very well decide the fate of the NPFL title.
Enugu is the place to be and NPFL fans across Nigeria are eagerly awaiting this showdown, as the stage is set for a true battle of the titans.
Ilechukwu's defiant stance adds more spice to an already heated Oriental Derby which has seen both teams take to social media to excite their fans with a stunning graphics war.
