We are now ready to win EPL title — Guardiola declares after Liverpool victory

Pep Guardiola has declared Manchester City ready to challenge for the Premier League title following their commanding 3-0 victory against Liverpool.

Goals from Erling Haaland, Nico González, and Jérémy Doku secured the crucial win, closing the gap on league leaders Arsenal to just four points.

The result was made even more significant as it followed Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Sunderland a day earlier.

Guardiola, however, insisted his team's motivation came from within, not from their rivals' slip-up.

"I think Liverpool and us said 'oh wow Arsenal dropped points finally and conceded two goals'," Guardiola remarked.

"But at the end we have to do it and I said to the players 'don't do it because yesterday Arsenal didn't win.

Do it because we believe in ourselves that we can play against the champions of England and show them we are ready to be there with them this season'."

"Today we proved it. We did it," he added.
