Lookman, who has been a pivotal figure for the Bergamo club since his arrival, was recently included in Nigeria's 55-man provisional squad for the 2025 tournament.

The 27-year-old has been in fine form, recently scoring his third goal in ten appearances during a 2-0 victory over Fiorentina.

However, his commitment to the Super Eagles means he is set to miss several key fixtures if he makes the final tournament roster.

Speaking to the press, Palladino addressed the challenge of losing key players. "We are losing two important players for us—strong, decisive ones," he stated, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb

"But we are getting back Kolasinac and Scalvini, who are equally important. I need everyone to feel involved."

Lookman's international duty would see him miss crucial home games against title rivals Inter on January 3 and Roma on January 7.

He is also expected to be unavailable for matches against Genoa, Bologna, and Torino, creating a significant void in Atalanta's attack during a packed winter period.
