Ademola Lookman sacrificed himself for the club — Atalanta manager Raffaele Palladino
New Atalanta boss Raffaele Palladino has praised Ademola Lookman's revival since his arrival.
The Super Eagles star has been impressive under the new manager across both Serie A and the UEFA Champions League, sparking an honest and warm review from the former Italy winger.
Ademola Lookman hailed for selfless performances
As reported by linterista, the new boss revealed that one of his first actions after taking charge was to build personal relationships with every member of the squad, including Lookman, whose Atalanta career appeared uncertain just months earlier due to difficult relationships with past managers, Gian Piero Gasperini and Ivan Juric.
Palladino detailed his approach and relationship with Lookman:“When I arrived, I spoke with everyone individually to establish a personal relationship.
"Players are always human. We spoke with Ademola; he's a great professional who is sacrificing himself for the team. He and I want the same thing: to make the club great. The results are showing.”
Under Palladino, Lookman has indeed flourished again, scoring two Serie A goals in nine appearances and adding another in the Champions League—his first in the competition this season.
The hope now is that Lookman can benefit from a settled managerial relationship with Palladino and continue to deliver on his immense talent.
