LOOK MAN! Atalanta Warned: Stop disrespecting Super Eagles star after latest goal
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman fired Atalanta to a crucial 2-0 Serie A victory over Fiorentina, snapping an eight-match winless streak and delivering his second goal in as many games.
The goal cemented the resurgence of the recently dethroned African Player of the Year under new boss Raffaele Palladino ahead of AFCON 2025.
Match Brief
Fiorentina started on the front foot, but Marco Carnesecchi's stunning fifth-minute double-save denied Moise Kean and Roberto Piccoli.
David De Gea then tipped Charles De Ketelaere's 13th-minute rocket over the bar before Odilon Kossounou broke the deadlock at five minutes from time, with a whipped cross-shot deceiving for 1-0.
Lookman then sealed it early in the second half, pouncing on a corner scramble to rifle home 2-0, killing the contest.
Atalanta climbed to 11th, easing relegation fears, while Fiorentina sank deeper into the bottom three under Paolo Vanoli.

Fans Demand Respect
Nigerians on Social media have erupted, with supporters slamming Atalanta's past treatment of the Super Eagles star, who had called out the club earlier in the summer over his desire to leave Bergamo.
One fan demanded, “Release our boy by January transfer. We don't care about Atlanta anymore.” Another vented, “Hopefully you idiots won't disrespect him anymore.”
The backlash intensified: “Toxic relationship,” fumed one, while calls rang out with “Apologise.”
Transfer talk bubbled up too: “I hope Gala comes for him,” as Lookman's back-to-back strikes, following a Champions League goal and assist vs Eintracht Frankfurt, silenced doubters.
AFCON Boost
New Atalanta boss Palladino hailed Lookman as an "essential asset," his pace and finishing vital for La Dea and Nigeria.
With Eric Chelle finalising the AFCON squad, this form, two goals in two matches post-summer Inter Milan saga, positions the 28-year-old as an AFCON weapon.
