We are better in every aspect — Amorim makes bold claim ahead of Manchester derby
Ruben Amorim believes Manchester United have become a better side since their win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium nine months ago.
Despite an underwhelming opening 11 months at Old Trafford, Amorim has overseen substantial changes in an effort to revive the fortunes of the 13-time Premier League champions.
The Portuguese manager has been heavily supported in the transfer market, with both new signings and departures aimed at reshaping the squad.
Amorim shares thoughts on Manchester derby
This weekend, he faces Pep Guardiola's City, looking to build on the 3-2 win over Burnley before the international break.
Amorim acknowledges City's brilliance when they are at their best, describing them as "a top team with the best coach in the league."
"A team that is really hard to imagine how they are going to play. They change all the time. But we are prepared for that, " Amorim said.
Despite United's mixed results, the 40-year-old is optimistic about the progress made. "We believe in our team. And I have that feeling. So it will be a very good game.
"We know what to do, we have one more training. The table, in the moment, it doesn't matter. I'm just worried about maintaining the same principles.
He expressed confidence in facing such challenges, saying, "I'm more comfortable in these kinds of games. But we will be ready against a very, very good team.
"I think we are a better team. Any aspect, if you see the data, we are a different team. We are ready to play the game. But we have to show onside. So I think we are a better team."
