Cristiano Ronaldo missed a chance to fire Portugal ahead early on in their UEFA Nations League quarter-final clash against Denmark, as his tame penalty attempt was comfortably saved by Kasper Schmeichel.
The 40-year-old drew the penalty in the opening exchanges of the clash, and there was no doubt he would take responsibility. He stepped up to play and despite stuttering his step, the former Leicester City goalkeeper read his attempt and dived for a comfortable save.
Portugal lost the first leg of the clash at the Parken Stadium in Denmark thanks to a Rasmus Hojlund goal. The Manchester United star did Ronaldo's "Sui" celebration after scoring, and the Al Nassr star plotted revenge. However, he missed the chance to do so early on with his penalty miss.
