The Warriors have struggled for consistency this season, currently in 11th spot in the Western Conference, and the ESPN report claims, the Dubs owner Joe Lacob reached out to the Lakers chiefs to see if a deal could be done.
James has a player option for 2024-25, meaning this could be his last season in Los Angeles, but it appears the 4-time NBA champion is prepared to a least see out the current season with the Lakers.
The report further stated that Draymond Green was involved in the failed recruitment process, pushing James to join the aging core of Klay Thompson, Curry, and Green.
The Warriors will have to continue to rely on Curry for any chance of relative success this season.
