Victor Osimhen: Panic at Chelsea as Super Eagles striker nears move to rivals
Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal have surged ahead of Chelsea in the pursuit of Napoli's Victor Osimhen for a summer transfer.
Despite Chelsea's strong efforts to persuade the Nigerian, PSG and Arsenal have gained momentum in the race.
Chelsea move for Osimhen in the balance, PSG, Arsenal lead charge
According to TEAMtalk, Osimhen wants a deal worth at least £200,000 a week and Stamford Bridge chiefs are reluctant to break their wage structure to land him.
PSG would be more comfortable with that level of salary, particularly considering Kylian Mbappe is likely to leave the French capital for Real Madrid at the end of the season, and they view Osimhen as the perfect replacement.
Osimhen has hit 72 goals in 125 appearances during four seasons in Italy and will be in high demand this summer.
.Arsenal are also keen to add a world-class No9 this summer and have been in touch with the 25-year-old's entourage regarding a move.
Napoli are resigned to losing their talisman with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis saying in January: "We knew it since last summer. We knew perfectly that he would go to Real Madrid, PSG, or some Premier League team."
