Victor Osimhen: Chelsea in pole position to land Super Eagles’ ace

This clause, however, doesn't preclude the possibility of his departure from the Italian club.

Osimhen's recent remarks in an interview with CBS have heightened speculations about his future at Napoli. The release clause in his contract is a key factor in any potential transfer, aligning with Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis' preference for substantial transfer fees.

Chelsea's interest in Osimhen is fueled by the striker's long-standing aspiration to play in the Premier League, making them a strong contender for his signature.

While Napoli is poised to wait for an offer that meets their valuation, Osimhen remains focused on his immediate goals. His current objectives include triumphing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria and concluding the season on a high note with Napoli. 

In the past summer, despite interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, Napoli retained Osimhen, primarily due to de Laurentiis' insistence on a hefty transfer fee. As the summer transfer window approaches, the situation could evolve, especially with Chelsea's apparent keen interest in the striker.
