Usain Bolt hit with another major loss as fire guts his restaurant in Montego Bay
A devastating fire has caused significant damage to the upper floor of Usain Bolt's Tracks & Records restaurant in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The blaze broke out in the early hours of Saturday morning, around 1 a.m., engulfing the upper level of the popular establishment. The restaurant is part of a chain owned by the 39-year-old Olympic sprinting legend, with other locations in Kingston, Ocho Rios, and the United Kingdom.
Bolt, widely regarded as the greatest sprinter of all time, built his restaurant business following a decorated career that saw him win eight Olympic gold medals. He famously dominated the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, achieving an unprecedented "triple-triple" at three consecutive Olympic Games.
The fire struck while the venue was actively participating in hurricane relief efforts. Staff arriving at approximately 1:45 a.m. discovered the flames and immediately contacted the Jamaica Fire Brigade. By the time firefighters arrived, the upper floor was already heavily consumed by the fire.
Crews successfully contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading further, but the building sustained extensive damage. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and are currently interviewing employees. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

At the time of the incident, the restaurant was collaborating with the World Central Kitchen initiative to provide daily meals to communities affected by Hurricane Melissa.
Oneil Kerr, the Jamaica Fire Brigade's lead investigator for St. James, provided details on the response. "Upon arrival, the team observed fire coming from the roof of Tracks & Records," he said. "They immediately got into operation, and within a few minutes, the situation was brought under control."
Kerr confirmed the extent of the damage, stating, "The fire was confined to the upper floors, which hold the dining area, bar, restrooms, and an office space." He added, "Based on observation, the extent appears to be significant."
Bolt has not yet publicly comment on the fire. He has been actively involved in humanitarian work, recently sharing a video of himself transporting supplies for hurricane victims.
