Udinese vs Pisa: Okoye struggles as Zebrette fails to defeat relegation-threatened Nerazzurri
The Zebrette form after entering the new year has not been impressive, losing their first game in 2026.
They recovered from the loss in their second game with a 2-1 win over Torino, giving them a boost.
However, they failed to build on their win after being held to a 2-2 draw against Pisa on Saturday afternoon.
As it happened
Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye made the starting XI for Udinese after missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Following the start of the game, the visitors shocked the host, scoring the first goal after Michel Aebischer teed up Matteo Tramoni on the edge of the box and he fired the ball into the top of the net.
However, six minutes later, Christian Kabasele levelled the game for Udinese after planting a header into the net from a corner kick.
The Zebrette then took the lead before half-time from the penalty spot, which was converted by Keinan Davis.
In the second half, Udinese held on to their one-goal advantage and thought they would run away with the win.
However, in the 67th minute, Henrik Meister got the equaliser for Pisa from a rebound, putting pressure on the host.
Udinese tried to get back into the game and snatch a late win, but could not get past the Pisa defence with the game ending 2-2.
