Osimhen's magical UCL night

Osimhen was in his bag at the Johan Cruyff Arena as the Turkish Super Lig champions picked Ajax apart to win their third consecutive game in this season’s Champions League, having lost their opening game.

The Super Eagles star put Okan Buruk’s men ahead with a brilliant header following a cross from Leroy Sane just before the hour mark.

Osimhen then doubled the away side’s lead from the spot in the 66th minute before repeating the same trick 12 minutes from time to give Galatasaray a comprehensive win.

The hat-trick took Osimhen’s tally to six in the Champions League this season, establishing him as the number one striker in Europe.

Going into matchday four, Osimhen was behind Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Erling Haaland in the top scorer race.

However, after matchday four, the former Napoli striker now sits alone at the top ahead of his direct rivals.

Osimhen is one goal ahead of the trio, as both Kane and Mbappe failed to score, while Haaland could only manage just one in Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund.

The Super Eagles star can pull further clear of his nearest rivals on matchday five when Galatasaray host Union Saint-Gilloise.

However, for now, Osimhen will turn his attention to the Turkish Lig, where Galatasaray travel to face Kocaelispor this weekend.

The Super Eagles star has managed just three goals in eight games in the Turkish top flight this campaign, having finished as the top scorer last season.
