Two-time UCL winner devise plot to save Lookman after Inter pull out
Juventus are reportedly plotting a sensational move for Ademola Lookman after Inter ended their pursuit of the Nigerian yesterday. The 27-year-old was laser-focused on joining the Nerazzurri this summer and even rejected better salary terms from Napoli. However, Inter have refused to match Atalanta's demands for him and have now pulled out of the race.
The news broke yesterday after two weeks of inactivity. Inter refused to improve their €45 million offer, and Atalanta rejected it and have told the player the deal is off, as they have no intentions of paying the extra €5 million demanded by La Dea.
Juventus to capitalise
According to Radioradio.it, the Old Lady are looking to capitalise on their better relationship with Atalanta to negotiate for Lookman.
The Nigerian has already used the nuclear option: going on strike and submitting a transfer request. Despite reports suggesting that he has returned to training after Inter pulled out, returning him to the fold could prove awkward for all parties, with an exit the best course of action.
According the the aforementioned report, Juventus want a wide forward late in the window, as they are working on selling Nico Gonzalez, who is on the radar of Atletico Madrid.
The Old Lady are able to match La Dea's €50 million ask or are confident they can get him for just under that figure, as they have a cordial relationship with the Bergamo outfit.
