Transfer news: Trabzonspor move to beat Premier League sides with offer for Super Eagles star

Dele-Bashiru, who recently returned to Rome after helping Nigeria secure a bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, is once again the subject of transfer speculation linking him to Turkey

His time at Lazio has been inconsistent. After an impressive initial loan spell led to a permanent deal, he has struggled to secure a regular starting spot under manager Maurizio Sarri. 

However, the midfielder is reportedly holding out for a potential move to the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest emerging as a possible destination.

Lazio's own struggles and lack of playing time have potentially opened the door for player departures this January. 

According to reports, Trabzonspor's interest is firm, with a financially compelling proposal already submitted.

Despite the concrete offer from Turkey, Dele-Bashiru is said to be hesitant about returning to a league he is already familiar with. 

His preference is reportedly a move to England's Premier League. While Nottingham Forest has been linked with the player through preliminary inquiries, no official bid has been made yet.

A return to England, where his brother Tom Dele-Bashiru also plays, is believed to be more appealing to the midfielder than another stint in Turkey. 

For their part, Lazio are reportedly open to selling Dele-Bashiru if their valuation is met, as they consider a broader overhaul of their midfield options.

The Nigerian international is in no hurry to decide his future, preferring to wait for other opportunities to materialise, particularly from England, in the coming weeks.
