Tottenham join hunt for coveted Nigerian star from Leicester City
Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have turned their attention to Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as they look to bolster their squad in the January transfer window.
Ndidi on Tottenham’s radar
Ndidi, currently with Championship side Leicester City is a top prospect for many sides looking to add quality to their midfield, and the Nigerian star was targeted by German giants Bayern Munich.
That move did not materialise, however, and Ndidi has continued to impress with Leicester City in the Championship, helping the Foxes to an outstanding campaign so far as they lead the division on 39 points from 15 matches.
Ndidi’s performances have seen him emerge as a prime target for Tottenham, who still require more bodies in midfield to go through a demanding campaign.
Tottenham looking for January Ndidi signing
According to The Daily Express, Ndidi remains a priority signing for Tottenham, who will attempt to sign the Nigerian midfielder in the next transfer window or next summer when his contract expires.
Leicester will be keen on a January sale to avoid losing the Nigerian midfielder on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.
Ndidi has been impressive for the Foxes this season, aiding the team’s cause with one goal and three assists in 12 Championship matches, as he enjoys a new, more advanced role in midfield under coach Enzo Maresca.
