Tokyo 2025 World Championships: Sha'Carri Richardson's training partners spearhead Team USA's 4x100m relay squad
Sha'Carri Richardson and her training partners will spearhead Team USA's women's 4x100m relay squad at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships.
The news was confirmed following the withdrawals of Olympic 200m champion Gabby Thomas and Aleia Hobbs due to injuries, as well as the release of Team USA contingents to Tokyo.
The reigning world 100m champion, who'll be gunning to defend her title in Tokyo, trains with the Star Athletics training group in Florida, coached by Dennis Mitchell.
Following the release of the roster, the American women's 4x100m pool will feature Richardson, who will be joined by her training partners, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Kayla White, and Tee Tee Terry, as well as Tamara Clark, Jenna Prandini, and Jacious Sears.

Jefferson-Wooden and White secured their automatic spots at the US Championships by finishing first and second in the women's 100m final. Tee Tee Terry was added to the list after being upgraded from fourth position due to Hobbs' withdrawal, who originally placed third.
Meanwhile, Richardson, having opted not to compete in the 100m final, will be in Tokyo to defend her title as the reigning world champion.
It'll be the second time in a row the Star Athletics women's sprint group will all don the American colours in the 100m event at a major championship, after attaining the same feat at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
