While Nigeria failed to qualify for the Tokyo 2025 World Championships, Ghana showed their class by storming to a massive National Record (NR) to win their heat and advance to the 4x100m final.

🔔 FOLLOW US NOW ➜Competing in heat 2 against powerhouses Great Britain, Italy, and South Africa, the quartet of Ibrahim Fuseini, Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Paul Amoah, and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu performed strongly with composure, blazing to the win in a new NR of 37.79s.
Netherland's finished second n 37.95s, ahead of Japan to the delight of their home crowd in 38.07s.
Meanwhile, the major casualties were Great Britain and South Africa (under protest). The British team, like Jamaica, failed to pass the baton between the third and last leg runners.
South Africa's first leg runner, Shaun Maswanganyi, was impeded by Italy's Marcell Jacobs, which affected his progression. As a result, they will run under protest.
Ghana's time not only qualified as the fastest overall in both heats, but it propelled them to second on the African all-time list behind South Africa's 37.57s and ahead of Nigeria's 37.98s.
They'll be aiming to finish on the podium, which will be their first relay medal in world championships history.
