'This is for Osimhen' — Nigerians celebrate Ademola Lookman destroying Napoli

Nigerians are cheering Ademola Lookman's contribution to Napoli's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Atalanta, tagging it as revenge for the Partenopei’s treatment of Victor Osimhen last summer. 

Lookman scored a first-half brace before Italy international Mateo Retegui added a cherry on the cake late in the game to end Napoli's bullish run. 

Many Nigerians had Napoli as their second club in the last few seasons, given Osimhen's exploits at the club. However, that goodwill was immediately withdrawn following the 25-year-old's exit to Galatasaray. 

The former Lille man left the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in fractious terms, with the club relegating him to the back burner following his failed desired summer exit. 

Napoli were prepared to keep him out of team dynamics until the January transfer window, before Galatasaray swooped in and signed the Nigerian on a season-long loan deal. Hence, fans of the CAF Men's Player of the Year now actively cheer against the Naples-based club.
