‘Things will go our way’ - Super Eagles star reveals team is confident in qualifying for World Cup
Moffi, who recently earned his first national team call-up in over a year, rejoins a Super Eagles squad in a precarious position.
Nigeria currently sits third in Group C, trailing both Benin and South Africa by four points with only two games remaining.
To secure a spot in the World Cup, Nigeria must win both of their upcoming fixtures decisively and hope their rivals drop points in their respective final two matches.
Moffi confident Super Eagles will qualify
Despite the slim odds, Moffi insists the team has not lost hope. Speaking to NFF TV, the forward expressed the squad's self-belief.
“We the guys, we're really confident about qualifying for the World Cup," Moffi stated, ahead of the Lesotho game.
"We have to do our part and wait for the result of the other teams. We are confident that things will go our way.”
While Moffi may not be the first-choice striker, with Victor Osimhen and Tolu Arokodare likely ahead in the pecking order, he is prepared to contribute whenever called upon as the Super Eagles fight to keep their World Cup dream alive.
The task is daunting, particularly as South Africa is set to play at home against Zimbabwe and Rwanda, making the prospect of them dropping points seem unlikely.
