They will not do it — Michael Owen insists no quadruple for Arsenal
Arsenal have already secured a spot in the Carabao Cup final, where they will face either Manchester City or Newcastle United on March 22, following a 1-0 semi-final win against Chelsea.
The Gunners also hold a commanding position in the Premier League. After a brief dip in form, they returned to winning ways with a decisive 4-0 victory over Leeds United.
Coupled with Manchester City's 2-2 draw against Tottenham, Arsenal now enjoys a six-point lead at the top of the table.
Michael Owen claims Arsenal will not win quadruple
Speaking to talkSPORT, Owen expressed his belief that the league title is nearly secured for Arsenal, citing the struggles of their main rivals.
"I don't think there's anybody good enough to compete with them this season," Owen stated.
"I think the only teams that could have beaten them at the start of the season were Liverpool and Manchester City, who are obviously faltering. So I think Arsenal certainly will have won it, but they've been semi-handed it.
" I think nobody's put much pressure on them, so I think the league is nearly wrapped up."
Despite their domestic dominance, Owen believes the knockout competitions present a much tougher challenge.
When questioned directly about the possibility of a quadruple, Owen was clear in his assessment.
"No, I don't think so, but I think they are special, they're a very strong side, they're very efficient," he explained.
"I think they could win the Carabao Cup, absolutely they could, and then the other two are going to be tough."
Owen reasoned that with the league title race seemingly decided, other top clubs will now prioritize the FA Cup to salvage their seasons, making it a fiercely contested trophy.
He concluded by noting the unpredictable nature of Europe's premier competition, adding, "Then there's the Champions League, that could be anybody's, that's really open this year."
