Rio Ferdinand has made a bold prediction after watching Liverpool dismantle Real Madrid at Anfield.

After the Reds secured a 2-0 win against Los Blancos, Ferdinand revealed he is now backing Liverpool to sweep both the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.

The former Man Utd captain shared his thoughts on TNT, saying:

"Liverpool have put 'the gauntlet down top' all the other teams in Europe. They are the in-form team."

He further emphasised Liverpool's dominance, stating:

"I said before the game, Arne Slot will have wanted to see what his team could produce against a team of this magnitude.

"If I was to put money on a team who looks most likely to win the Premier League and Champions League this season, I would say it is Liverpool."

Liverpool last won the competition under Jurgen Klopp in 2019 and will be keen to replicate that success this time around.
