Their final group stage match will be against the Super Eagles on December 30th at the Fez Stadium, a fixture that could prove decisive for advancing to the knockout rounds.

As three-time African champions, Nigeria enter the tournament as one of the favourites following their impressive performance in 2023.

Put wary of Super Eagles’ quality

Despite the daunting task, Put insists his team will approach the game with confidence, but also mentioned that the Super Eagles are a powerhouse.

"They are a perennial powerhouse," the Belgian coach told CAF's official website. "There are threats everywhere from their squad with top talent and European experience."

Historically, the odds are stacked against Uganda, who have only secured two wins against Nigeria, the last of which was over 18 years ago in March 2007.

Their squad features a wealth of players from Europe's elite leagues, including current African Footballer of the Year Victor Osimhen and Europa League hero Ademola Lookman.
