Despite the concerns and lack of game time before the move, Sancho has found his feet back in familiar surroundings, helping Dortmund advance to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
Ten Hag speaks on Sancho's future at Man Utd
There's been criticism of Ten Hag for letting Sancho leave Old Trafford during a tough period for United. However, the United boss defends the decision, stating that Sancho's departure wasn't solely about his footballing ability.
Speaking ahead of United's FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City, Ten Hag stated,
"We know he [Sancho] is a fantastic player. That is not a surprise. That is not the issue.
"It was a fantastic game - Dortmund against Atletico Madrid. Great performance from Dortmund and for Jadon it's good news.
"Of course, I follow international football and follow the players on loan at other clubs."
