Tears of joy - Super Eagles' new invitee got emotional after making his debut against Rwanda
The 24-year-old got his first call-up to the Nigerian national team after an impressive season with Genk.
This season, he has scored 19 goals and provided five assists in all competitions for Thorsten Fink's team.
His performance was rewarded by Eric Chelle, who opted to substitute him into the game to make his debut in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Rwanda in Kigali.
Arokodare in tears
Arokodare replaced Victor Osimhen, who scored a brace in the Super Eagles' historic win against Rwanda.
Chelle brought in the Genk star in the second half, leaving the likes of Victor Boniface without a minute in the game.
After the game, the striker was overcome with emotion and broke down in tears in the locker room as he realised the magnitude of his achievements.
The beautiful moment was captured on X by Official AGT, who added the caption, “A teary-eyed Tolu Arokodare after making his Super Eagles debut!✨Emotional moment🥺💚.”
