Super Falcons: Rinsola Babajide laments No invite by Lagos State Governor for WAFCON Title
Nigerian football star Rinsola Babajide has taken to social media to talk about the Super Falcons.
In a post on her official social media platforms, Babajide expressed playful disappointment over not being invited by the Lagos State Governor to celebrate the Super Falcons winning the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
In a lighthearted statement said, "Lagos state governor no want invite us."

She was instrumental as the Super Falcons defeated Morocco 3-2 to win their record-extending 10th WAFCON title.
Upon their return to Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu hosted the team, awarding each player $100,000, a national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), and a three-bedroom apartment.
The statement by Babajide comes in the wake of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma hosting players from his state.
Super Falcons stars like Chiamaka Nnadozie and Jennifer Echegini went to celebrate their contribution to the WAFCON victory.
This selective celebration by Uzodinma has drawn attention to the lack of a similar gesture from Lagos State, where Babajide is yet to receive any official invite.
After representing England at youth level, she switched her international allegiance to Nigeria in October 2023.
The talented winger paid an emotional tribute to the late Diogo Jota during Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Tunisia.
Babajide, who recently joined AS Roma from Costa Adeje Tenerife has played for clubs such as Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Real Betis.
