Super Falcons: Nigeria remains best in Africa despite dropping places in latest FIFA ranking
Nigeria’s national women’s football team, the Super Falcons have experienced a slight drop in the latest FIFA World ranking.
The Super Falcons have dropped two places four months have they were rewarded for a historic outing at the FIFAWWC.

Nigeria’s Falcons despite hammering Cape Verde en route to a 13th WAFCON, Nigeria dropped from 32nd in the world to 34th.
The Super Falcons thrashed the Blue Sharks 7-1 to confirm another appearance in the Women’s Nations Cup.
However, that performance was not enough to guarantee a better position on the ranking. But Nigeria retained her position as Africa’s number one team.
Renowned for their skill, tenacity and historic achievements, Nigerian women remain a force to be reckoned with.
Nigeria dropped over 20 points but retained that top spot followed by current African champions South Africa, who dropped seven places.
The top ten teams in Africa bar Mali all dropped points in the December ranking, with Mali moving up after gaining over 12 points since the last rankings four months ago.
