Special Delivery: Super Eagles star Bruno Onyemaechi and girlfriend Ines Fontes expecting first child
While Nigeria's Super Eagles chase continental glory at the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON 2025, in Morocco, defender Bruno Onyemaechi is already celebrating the biggest win of his life off the pitch.
The Olympiacos left-back and his partner of three years, Portuguese beauty Ines Fontes, have revealed they're expecting their first child, a baby girl named Isabella.
Fontes broke the news with an understated Instagram story post, sharing a photo of her growing baby bump alongside the caption: "Baby Isabella is on the way."
The announcement came on the same day her Nigerian beau put in another solid shift for the Super Eagles, playing the full 90 minutes in their commanding 3-1 victory over Uganda.
It's been a dream run for the 26-year-old defender both on and off the field.
After impressing in Nigeria's second group stage match against Tunisia, Onyemaechi earned another start and delivered once again as the three-time African champions sealed top spot in Group C with a perfect nine points from three matches.
For the couple, who've been navigating life between Greece and Portugal since getting together three years ago, the pregnancy marks a new chapter in their relationship.
The pair have been inseparable since meeting, with Fontes regularly travelling to support Onyemaechi during his football commitments across Europe.
Now, as Nigeria's AFCON campaign heats up and the knockout rounds approach, Onyemaechi has even more reason to bring his A-game and maybe, just maybe, lift a trophy to take home to his expanding family.
Baby Isabella couldn't have picked a better time to make her entrance. Her dad's having the tournament of his life.
