Shooting Stars secure first away win of the season
Shooting Stars recorded their first-ever away win in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) of the season after defeating Kwara United.
The Oluyole Warriors narrowly beat Kwara United at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, in NPFL matchday 12.
The visitors had a strong start to the game, but were unable to capitalize on their opportunities thanks to Kwara United goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba.
The first half ended scoreless. In the 90th minute, Sikiru Alimi had a chance to score for Shooting Stars on a penalty kick, but he missed.
Joshua Akpan scored in the final minute of play to guarantee the Shooting Stars would still earn all possible points.
With the win, Shooting Stars now have 16 points to remain 6th on the Group A table of the abridge league.
Other results
Lobi Stars and Rangers settled for a 1-1 draw at the Awka City stadium, while Akwa United defeated Enyimba 1-0 in Uyo.
Wikki Tourists defeat Dakkada 3-1, and Plateau United and Bendel Insurance share the spoils in Jos.
Bayelsa United defeated Abia Warriors 5-1 as Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro was in Yenegoa to witness the game.
