'Shame on Rashford' — Fans react as former Chelsea and Liverpool flop scores hat-trick before Manchester United icon

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is being called out by fans after Bournemouth star Dominic Solanke reached the milestone of scoring a Premier League hattrick before the Red Devils’ academy graduate.

Rashford made his debut for Manchester United in 2015 after spending 10 years in the club’s academy and has grown from a promising teenager to one of the most recognisable and important players on the Red Devil’s team.

Despite his growing stature and many years of performances at the top, Rashford has failed to score a Premier League hat-trick for Manchester United, opening him up to ridicule among fans whenever another player scores their first treble in the competition.

The Manchester United star was put through the grinder after Chelsea’s new signing Nicholas Jackson scored a hattrick against Tottenham and is under the kosh again after another Premier League star’s first treble.

Bournemouth’s Solanke was the culprit this time around, after scoring a superb hattrick to give the Cherries a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.

The former Chelsea and Liverpool forward was on hand to score a unique hat-trick, becoming only the 10th player in Premier League history to complete a treble with an extra-time winner and the first since Diogo Jota did so for Wolves against Leicester.

Fans have taken advantage of Solanke’s hat-trick to troll Rashford for his lack of trebles in the competition, with many pointing out that the former England youth international had reached the milestone before Manchester United’s doctor.

Although Rashford has not scored a Premier League hat-trick, he has notched a treble in the UEFA Champions League, giving fans hope that a league showing is not far away.
