I’m so excited to be part of #CWG50, where I can show love to the women who paved the way and celebrate the next generation of athletes," Sha'Carri Richardson posted on her Instagram before the event.

"When you give this sport all that you've got, you never know how far it can take you. If you’re in NYC, come see me on February 7 at The Armory. Tickets are free but required. In a statement released before the event, the leadership of the Colgate Women’s Games described the series as "the starting line" for generations of girls who have become leaders both on and off the track.

Sha'Carri Richardson and Boyfriend Christian Coleman Arrested

Meanwhile, in a surprising turn of events last week, Sha'Carri Richardson and Christian Coleman were both arrested in Orange County, Florida.

The incident began when deputies clocked Sha’Carri Richardson’s gray Aston Martin travelling at 104 mph in a 65 mph zone, leading to a charge of dangerous excessive speeding.

During the traffic stop, Christian Coleman arrived in a separate vehicle and reportedly attempted to intervene and defend Richardson’s actions. After he allegedly refused to return to his car and failed to provide identification, he was arrested for resisting an officer without violence.

A subsequent search of Christian Coleman’s vehicle also led to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found a glass device with residue. Both athletes were booked into the Orange County Jail and released later that night after posting bond.

This legal trouble follows another recent incident in late 2025, where Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested for domestic violence after an argument with Christian Coleman at an airport. Both stars have since entered not guilty pleas through their attorney and are scheduled for court appearances later this month.
