Sanwo-Olu to Arsenal: Governor leaves Lagos to watch favorite player Bukayo Saka
On Saturday, August 12, 2023, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu attended Arsenal's opening-day match at the Emirates Stadium.
At the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners defeated Nottingham Forest 2-1 to begin their 2023–24 Premier League season.
Before Super Eagles of Nigeria, striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored a late consolation goal at the Emirates Stadium, Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka both scored goals for Arsenal in the first half.
Governor Sanwo-Olu watches Bukayo Saka play for Arsenal in London
According to a video that has gone viral on social media, the Governor was in attendance to watch the Gunners.
In June, Sanwo-Olu received Arsenal star Bukayo Saka when he visited Lagos.

He revealed that Saka was his favorite player while stating that he supports Arsenal in the Premier League.
The statement by Sanwo-Olu said, "Exciting day at the State House, Marina today as I had the pleasure of hosting my favorite @Arsenal player, Star Boy Bukayo Saka. @BukayoSaka87.
"I also enjoyed receiving my own signed Saka Jersey.

Sanwo-Olu has now gone to see Saka play live and was also able to see a Nigerian Awoniyi find the back of the net.
