Now, a teammate has placed Bukayo Saka firmly among football’s elite after the Arsenal star was compared to star Brazilian wingers like Vinicius Junior and Raphinha.

Gabriel Jesus puts Saka among the world’s best

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has boldly claimed that Saka belongs in the same bracket as some of the biggest attacking stars in world football, including Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior and Barcelona’s Raphinha, his former teammates at international level.

Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel, Jesus did not hesitate when asked to compare his teammate with the game’s elite, saying they were “At the same table".

“They are all the same. They all have qualities and have had an impact in big moments. Bukayo is there as well. Of course, he still needs to win trophies, but he will get there.”

Despite an injury-hit campaign, Saka has still managed nine goals this season, including six in the Premier League and continues to be of huge importance to Arsenal’s attacking output even in difficult moments.

Humility and hunger driving Arsenal star

“I’m a big fan of Bukayo because he’s so humble and strong. Coming from the academy and becoming so big, yet staying the same, is not easy,” he said.

Saka’s journey from academy prospect to one of Arsenal’s most important players has been central to the club’s resurgence under Mikel Arteta. His consistency, composure, and ability to deliver in big moments have made him a cornerstone of the team.

With Arsenal currently leading the league ahead of Manchester City, Jesus believes the squad is ready to turn promise into silverware.

“I’m very confident. We are in a good place with an amazing squad. I believe 100% we can do something this season,” he added.

If Saka continues on this trajectory, comparisons with the world’s best may soon feel less like praise, and more like an undeniable fact.
