Ryan Ogam Watches From the Bench as 10-Man Wolfsberger Suffer First Loss in 7 Games
Harambee Stars striker Ryan Ogam was an unused substitute as his Austrian club Wolfsberger AC suffered a first loss in nearly two months.
Ogam, who was heavily involved in Harambee Stars’ World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast, and even scored past the Swallows, was still not deemed ready to start as Wolfsberger hosted SV Ried.
Wolfsberger were off to a good start as Dejan Zukic gave them a 20th minute lead and they held on until halftime.

However, after the break, Ried turned it around with Zambian forward Kingstone Mutandwa at the centre of it. Mutandwa, who was introduced in the second half, scored a brace, netting the equaliser in the 53rd minute and the match seemed headed for a 1-1 draw.
Late Drama See SV Ried Steal All Three Points
However, there was late drama as in time added on, Wolfsberger were reduced to 10 men Ivorian defender Cheick Mamadou Diabate received a straight red card after a rash challenge in the box that led to a penalty.
Mutandwa stepped up one minute later and converted to see Ried steal all three points at the death and break the home supporters’ hearts.
Ogam had managed just under 20 minutes when he came on as a second half substitute just before the international break but hopes of a home debut on Saturday went up in smoke when he was left on the bench.
Wolfsberger’s loss left them second on the table with 17 points from 10 points, one behind top of the table Sturm Graz, who have played two games less.
Rapid Vienna and RB Salzburg, who are also on17 points, can move ahead of Wolfsberger if they win on Sunday.
