Djokovic pulled out after a bad injury.

The match concluded in just 54 minutes, with Zverev leading 6-4, 3-0 when the Dutchman pulled out.

The win sets up a potential high-stakes showdown with Novak Djokovic, provided the Serbian legend overcomes Cameron Norrie in their fourth-round match, scheduled for no earlier than 2:30 p.m. local time.

Zverev’s abbreviated outing could prove to be a significant advantage. While Djokovic still has to battle past a gritty Norrie, Zverev will be fully rested heading into the next round.

The German has posed problems for Djokovic in the past and could capitalize on any signs of fatigue or inconsistency from the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

Though Djokovic remains the favourite when in top form, the prospect of facing a fresh and in-form Zverev adds intrigue to the tournament's later stages.

So far, the path has been smooth for the Serbian superstar, but the real tests may just be beginning.
