Rhasidat Adeleke: Irish-Nigerian track star stuns in photos announcing professional chapter with Nike
Irish athlete with Nigerian ancestry Rhasidat Adeleke was stunning in her new photos announcing her professional chapter with Nike.
Adeleke, a standout college athlete for the University of Texas, revealed via her Instagram platform that she will be forgoing her final year in college and turning professional with Nike as her kit sponsor.
The Irish 200m and 400m speedster won the NCAA 400m title, upsetting race favourite Britton Wilson in a new National Record (NR) of 49.20s.
She is the first Irish woman to break the 50-second barrier in the 400m and holds six NRs in the indoor 60m and 200m, indoor 300m, and outdoor 200m and 400m.
In her first professional race at the World Continental Tour Gold meet in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, she finished second behind world champion Shericka Jackson in 22.36s, just 0.02s off the NR she set in April and has qualified for the Paris Olympics.

The 20-year-old Dubliner will return to action over 400m at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday, July 21st.
