RFEF to hold 'extraordinary general assembly' over Jenni Hermoso kiss
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) will reportedly hold an extraordinary general assembly following the backlash that ensued after the body's president kissed women's national team record goalscorer Jennifer Hermoso.
What happened
As Pulse Sports previously reported, Following Spain's World Cup triumph over the Three Lionesses, a bizarre incident that shocked many occurred.
While the champions were receiving their medals, the Spanish Federation's president, Rubiales, in a burst of excitement, kissed the country's all-time top scorer, Hermoso, on the lips.

RFEF's statement
Following pressure from relevant bodies in Spain, with many calling for the sack of 49-year-old Rubiales, the federation has now announced that they will hold a meeting over the incident.
In the statement on their website, it is revealed that they will convene on Friday, August 25th, at their headquarters in the Ciudad del Futbol de las Rozas.
“The Royal Spanish Football Federation convenes, as a matter of urgency, an Extraordinary General Assembly for next Friday, August 25, starting at 12 noon, at the headquarters of the Ciudad del Fútbol de las Rozas.”
“In addition, and based on the latest events that occurred during the award ceremony for the Women's World Cup won by the Spanish National Team last Sunday in Sydney, we would like to inform you that the internal proceedings of the Federation regarding integrity issues are open, as well as all other applicable protocols.”
