Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland's salaries compared: PSG superstar earns 3x more than Manchester City's goal machine

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe are two of the highest-paid footballers on the planet.

The pair have been touted to lead the next generation of the epic football rivalry replacing the eternal debate between world beaters and legendary duo, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, fans remain divided on who the better player is between Haaland and Mbappe with constant debates emerging to determine who is the leader of the next generational talents in football.

What is constant though, is that every football fan agrees that the future of football is in safe hands with Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

The ever-lingering debate emerged again on Tuesday night, after Erling Haaland bagged five goals in Man City’s demolition of RB Leipzig in the Champions League round of 16-second leg tie.

Haaland bagged a brace in the second half at the Etihad Stadium, having already scored a hat-trick in the first half, netting five times in the space of 57 minutes and shattering records by becoming the fastest player to reach 30 UCL goals after already claiming the record for the youngest and fastest player to 20 goals( a record previously held by Kylian Mbappe).

Following the Norwegian’s 5-star display for the Premier League champions, fans had since taken to social media to react.

Even though, this debate looks set to continue for at least the next decade, we have now tried to ascertain who is the highest-paid footballer between Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

Erling Haaland is the second-highest-paid player in Manchester City and in the Premier League.

The prolific Norwegian who turns 23 in July joined the Etihad outfit in the summer of 2022 from Borussia Dortmund after the Premier League giants triggered his €60 million (£51.2 million) release clause.

According to Capology, Haaland’s City contract which expires in 2027 sees him earn a whopping  $24,119,209 per year, $432,909 per week, and has a release clause of $207,721,100.

The 24-year-old French world champion and PSG vice-captain is the highest-paid player in European football of all time.

Mbappe is the highest-paid player at PSG and also in the entire Ligue 1. 

According to Capology, Mbappe’s current contract which expires in 2025 sees him earn a staggering $74,474,712 (€72,000,000) per year, $1,432,206 (€1,384,615) per week.
