REPORT: Man City begin talks for 15-goal Serie A-based midfielder

Manchester City have expressed interest in signing AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, with initial talks underway but no formal offer made yet. 

According to The Athletic, the 26-year-old Dutch international is seen as a key target to strengthen City's midfield, especially with Kevin de Bruyne set to depart and Bernardo Silva rumoured to leave as well. 

As per the report, City are also considering Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz and Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White as potential options, though Wirtz may prefer a Bayern Munich move. 

Reijnders, who signed with Milan in 2023 and extended his contract until 2030, has made 101 appearances and helped the team win the Supercoppa Italiana this year. 

The Dutchman has scored 15 goals and provided five assists during the current season. 

Despite Milan's success in cup competitions, they are struggling in Serie A, currently sitting eighth in the table. 

The Rossoneri face Bologna in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday (today), bidding to secure another domestic triumph following January’s Super Cup victory.
