Report: Kishane Thompson and Shericka Jackson withdraw from Lausanne Diamond League
After successful victories at the Silesia Diamond League, Jamaican sprint stars Kishane Thompson and Shericka Jackson have reportedly withdrawn from their next meet in Lausanne.
The Lausanne Diamond League set to be held on Wednesday, August 20, is to feature some of the best athletes in the sport as they continue their preparations ahead of the World Championships in Tokyo next month.
Thompson, on the bounce of getting his Olympic revenge against Noah Lyles in Silesia, where he blazed to victory in an impressive 9.87s, was listed to attempt to extend his winning streak against the American again before his reported withdrawal.
This means Lyles will be the main headliner of the event in Lausanne, facing stiff competitors in Jamaican Oblique Seville, British record holder Zharnel Hughes, South African sprint legend Akani Simbine, and the American duo of Courtney Lindsey and Brandon Hicklin.

A win for Lyles will be his first 100m Diamond League victory this season, which will be a massive confidence booster ahead of defending his world title in Tokyo.
Shericka Jackson also withdraws from Lausanne Diamond League
Meanwhile, reigning world 200m champion Shericka Jackson will also not compete in Lausanne, despite bouncing back to winning ways and showing impressive form in her last race in Silesia.
The world's fastest woman alive in the 200m ran a brilliant new Season's Best (SB) of 22.17s in Silesia to announce her comeback to form and readiness to defend her world title in Tokyo.
With her reported withdrawal, the event now has a stacked lineup of USA's duo of Brittany Brown and McKenzie Long, Favour Ofili, British champion Dina Asher-Smith, Ivorian legend Ta Lou-Smith, Olympic 400m champion Marileidy Paulino, and British sprint queen Daryll Neita.
