The Jamaican champion capitalised on his trademark good start to take the lead ahead of the field and held on to the finish line, clocking an impressive 9.87s (0.3)
Lyles closed off nicely for second spot in a new season's best of 9.90s, while newly crowned US champion Kenny Bednarek tasted his first 100m defeat of the season to finish third in 9.96s, the same time as Christian Coleman in fourth.
With his victory, Thompson made it his eighth consecutive victory in the event this season, with his first and only loss being to Akani Simbine at the Xiamen Diamond League on May 3.
