Report: Bayern reach agreement with Liverpool forward after Musiala misfortune
Luis Diaz has reportedly agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich, despite ongoing interest from Barcelona.
The Liverpool winger, 28, has two years remaining on his contract and enjoyed a productive 2024-25 season, scoring 13 Premier League goals in 36 appearances as Arne Slot’s Reds won the title.
However, he is considered relatively underpaid, and the Reds are said to be prepared to let him leave as a free agent in 2027, having benefitted from his prime years.
Bayern, Diaz reach agreement
Liverpool have previously rejected approaches for Diaz from both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, while Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr is also reportedly considering a substantial bid.
Despite the Reds’ firm stance, reports suggest Diaz is open to an exit from Anfield, with BILD reporting that the forward has accepted the Bundesliga club’s terms.
If the report of his agreement with Bayern is accurate, it indicates a strong desire from the forward to leave the club.
Further reports suggest that a potential transfer of Diaz to Bayern could have a direct impact on Manchester United.
If Barcelona miss out on Diaz, their attention would reportedly shift to Marcus Rashford, whose Old Trafford future remains up in the air as the Red Devils remain eager to sell the Englishman.
What’s next for Liverpool?
Liverpool will return for pre-season this month as they start preparations for the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
