The Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, is said to be a big fan and has named him as an option for the striker's position.
The UCL holders are famously in the market for a striker, a need that has intensified in recent days with the rumours of a possible Benzema exit.
However, despite the French star dispelling the rumours, the club are said to still want a striker as they lack a proper replacement for the Ballon d'Or winner.
Havertz has emerged as a top option, and according to the report, Chelsea are open to a sale but will only sell for a significant amount.
