Real Madrid new signing sidelined with knee injury, could miss several weeks

Guler, who joined Real Madrid from Turkish side Fenerbahce, has been diagnosed with an injury to the internal meniscus of his right knee. 

According to The Athletic, the 18-year-old will undergo a platelet-rich plasma injection and if this is not successful, he will need surgery.

Guler picked up the injury in training during Madrid’s U.S tour and has not been able to train with the group since July 21.

 He was unavailable for his side’s pre-season friendlies against AC Milan and Manchester United.

The Turkey international joined Real Madrid, signing a six-year contract with the immediate aim of nailing down a first-team shirt.
