Osimhen ended a long-drawn-out transfer saga when Galatasaray finally met Napoli’s valuation of the Nigerian striker with a fee of €75 million agreed to allow him leave the Italian champions permanently.

The striker spent one season on loan at Galatasaray, where he hugely impressed by scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 games, to help them to the league and cup double.

After the season, the striker had a number of proposals to choose from with a big-money bid from Saudi giants Al-Hilal coming in but when the Nigerian striker rejected them, Galatasaray had no rivals and after weeks of negotiations with Napoli, a fee was finally agreed.

The striker completed the move last week, signing a four-year contract, but now, a Nigerian pastor is claiming Osimhen will have a hard time during his stay at the Istanbul-based club.

“Osimhen, four years deal is failed. That four-year deal, you will not enjoy it,” said pastor Elijah Ayodele, the founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church in Nigeria. He went went on: “You better have a rethink, who gave you that advice, Osimhen?”

It remains to be seen if it will be a painful stay in Istanbul for Osimhen but his first season at the club points to a continued success given he built a good understanding with his now permanent team-mates after their time together last season.

The Nigerian international’s decision to join the Turkish club, however, raised eyebrows given he is one of the top strikers in the world while Premier League teams Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have been in the market for proven goal scorer.
