Speaking about the level of experience in his team and why they are struggling, Pochettino said: "The problem at Chelsea is not that the players are so young. The problem is that the team is young."

Chelsea have struggled since the beginning of the season, despite making a number of high-profile signings. Though the Blues are in the EFL Cup final, where they will face Liverpool, their performance in the league has been underwhelming.

Building a Team Takes Time

Pochettino further elaborates, "With 16 or 17 players that have arrived new from the beginning of the season, you need time to build a team." This influx of new players at Chelsea represents a significant overhaul, making it one of the youngest squads in their history.

Integrating such a large number of new faces requires time for players to acclimatize to each other's play styles, Pochettino's tactical systems, and the club's culture. The transition period is crucial for building a cohesive unit capable of executing complex game plans and adapting to the unpredictable nature of football.
