Peter Olayinka outshines Chinedu as Crvena Zvezda defeats Radnički 1923

Super Eagles of Nigeria star Peter Olayinka found the back of the net twice for Serbian giants Crvena Zvezda.

Nigerian striker Peter Olayinka played a pivotal role as Crvena Zvezda beat Radnički 1923 4-3 in the match of the 11th round of the Serbian Super League on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

With a goal by Matija Gluevi in the 21st minute, Radniki seized the lead.

Peter Olayinka scored goals in the 29th and 33rd minutes for Zvezda to flip the score around in only four minutes.

In the 38th minute, a goal by Nigerian star Geoffrey Chinedu for Radniki 1923 restored parity.

Despite this, Zvezda held a lead at halftime thanks to a goal from Mirko Ivani in the 44th minute.

In the 67th minute, Mirko Ivani scored his second goal of the game from the edge of the penalty area to give Zvezda a two-goal lead.

Luka Zori's consolation goal in the third minute of stoppage time sealed the outcome.

Olayinka's Zvezda with 21 points are in second position, four points behind Partizan in first.

Olayinka, who is set to become Nigeria's greatest in Europe was not called up for the Super Eagles' friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

The following round will feature Zvezda hosting Javor and Chinedu's Raniki 1923 hosts Napredka.
