After a 5-year journey comes to an end, Peter Olayinka pens farewell to Slavia Prague.
Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Peter Olayinka has celebrated his stay with Slavia Prague of Czech Republic.
Slavia Prague presented Olayinka was presented with a one-of-a-kind trophy to recognize his great achievements at his farewell game.
He won seven trophies with Slavia during his five years donning the red and white.
Olayinka played in 182 games and scored 50 goals and provided 26 assists, making him a favorite of the crowd.
He became Slavia's top scorer in the modern era of European Cups and solidified his status as a club icon.
Olayinka's message to Slavia Prague
Olayinka took to his official social media accounts to post photos celebrating his time at the club.
He posed with the trophies and medals he won at the club and share a long message in apprecation of his time at the club.
He said, "THANK YOU JESUS for the years i have spent at @slaviapraha and in the city of prague has possibly been amongst the best parts of my life.
"I feel really grateful to become part of the history of the club. To work with one of the top managers and some of the best players in the world, has truely been an honour.
"Every achievement i have been part of in my time at Slavia holds a special memory: my first champions league goal against Inter Milan, as well as becoming the club's top scorer in European Competitions.
"I want to give an infinte thanks to our amazing fans, who have supoorted me endlessly over the years. The chant of "Olie; Olayinka" is something i will live never to forget.
"Difficult to find the right words for this. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. The club, coaches, management, teammates, staff, and amazing fans, I say a big THANK YOU.
"Over the course of these exciting five years, I've come up against some outstanding players. I have the most utmost respect and recognition for each and every one of them.
"However, i believe that the time has come to embark on a new chapter in my career, you will forever hold a place in my heart.
"Slavia Prague will forever remain my family. Keep the flag flying.🔴⚪🦅🐅🇳🇬"
Olayinka, who served as captain for the final game, will now continue his career in Serbia with Red Star Belgrade.
