"We played with courage and mentality. There were positives from the first half as we created chances," Paul Put stated after the match as quoted by New Vision.

"I was not happy with the second-half ball situation, but we shall improve in the next few days."

In the competitive friendly, forwards Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Denis Omedi found the net for Uganda in the 18th and 68th minutes, respectively.

AS FAR Rabat levelled the score with goals from Reda Salim in the 44th minute and Haddraf Fatah in the 59th. Paul Put also gave special mention to midfielders Travis Mutyaba and Bobosi Byaruhanga for their disciplined and energetic performances in the centre of the park, noting their key role in balancing the team alongside captain Khalid Aucho.

Teenage forward James Bogere also made a strong impression on his senior debut, earning praise from the coach despite not scoring. His intelligent movement and sharp decision-making consistently troubled the AS FAR defence.

"Bogere played well. He is learning, of course, still missing the maturity, but creating chances," Put remarked.

The young striker was denied by the AS FAR goalkeeper on two separate occasions in the first half, showcasing the potential that earned him a spot in the senior camp.

This match was Uganda's first build-up fixture as they gear up for AFCON 2025. The Cranes will play their final friendly on Wednesday against Gabon before turning their attention to the tournament.
