Paris 2024: D'Tigress head coach Rena Wakama begs for more investment after historic olympic run

Despite Nigeria's exit from the Paris 2024 Olympics at the hands of the USA 88-74, Head Coach Rena Wakama remains optimistic about the team's future.

In a post-game interview, Wakama emphasized the need for increased investment in the team, stating,

"The future is bright, but we have got to invest in us, we have got to give these girls other resources to support and help them get to the podium and bring home a medal because we are capable of it."

Wakama's words come after D'Tigress made history by becoming the first-ever African basketball team, male or female, to advance to the quarterfinals of the Olympics. This remarkable achievement underscores the team's potential and highlights the need for further support.
